Howard’s Dominance Leads Pineville Lady Lions to 10-0 Victory Over the Williamsburg Lady Jackets

PINEVILLE — Rachel Howard dominated on the mound, tallying 11 strikeouts in the Pineville Lady Lions’ decisive 10-0 win against the Williamsburg Lady Jackets. Over five innings, Howard allowed just one hit and no runs while issuing no walks.

Baileigh Bargo shone at the plate, going 3-for-3 in the victory. Bargo’s contributions included a double in the fifth inning, and singles in both the first and third innings.

The Pineville Lady Lions took an early lead in the bottom of the first. After Rayann Maidon was hit by a pitch, Bargo singled, Howard doubled, and Monica Whitehead grounded out, each driving in a run. They added another run in the third inning courtesy of a single by Whitehead.

In the explosive fifth inning, the Pineville Lady Lions scored five runs on five hits. Bargo’s double brought in one run, Whitehead’s single drove in two, and Isabella Adams’s single added another.

For the Williamsburg Lady Jackets, Allie Wilson took the mound initially, she gave up 12 hits and 10 runs over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking none.

Pineville racked up 12 hits in total. Howard, Nadine Johnson, and Adams were among the multiple hitters for the team. Maidon, Bargo, Johnson, and Whitehead showcased their speed, stealing multiple bases and contributing to Lady Lions’ total of 17 stolen bases. Notably, the team also displayed flawless defense, committing no errors. Maidon had the most opportunities in the field, with 13 chances.

Kendall Hamlin led Williamsburg Lady Jackets at the plate, going 1-for-2. The team showed solid defensive play, with Chloe Barman having the most fielding opportunities, also with 13 chances.
