Redhounds’ rally falls short in 6-3 loss to Madison Central 

RICHMOND — Cody Philpot’s Corbin Redhounds dug themselves an early hole they couldn’t get out of on Friday.

Madison Central lit the scoreboard up with five runs in the second inning while adding another run in the third to take a 6-0 lead.

Corbin attempted to rally, scoring three runs in the final two innings before losing, 6-3.

The Redhounds (21-9) were their own worst enemies against Madison Central, committing three errors that led to six unearned runs. Corbin was also limited to only five hits in the loss.

Bradric Helton took the loss on the mound, lasting 3 1/3 of an inning while giving up only four hits and no earned runs. He struck out five batters. Will Freeman pitched the final 2 2/3 of an inning, allowing no hits or earned runs while finishing with one strikeout.

Kade Elam led the way with a hit and an RBI while Walker Landrum, Helton and Cam Estep finished with a hit and a run scored apiece. Noah Cima also had a hit.
