Jaguars keep rolling, knock off Perry Central in extra innings

The Jaguars ran their win streak to a season-best five games with a slim 5-4 win over Perry Central.

North Laurel broke through and scored the game’s first runs in the fourth inning, taking a short-lived 3-0 lead.

The Commodores answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth while adding another run in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at three apiece.

The Jaguars added two runs in the top of the eighth to claim a 5-3 advantage while Cameron Hinkle record the final out to pick up the win.

Hinkle came in relief of Cooper Parman, who started the game and pitched well. Parman tossed 6 1/3 of an inning while allowing four hits and two earned runs. He struck out four batters.

Carter Kelley delivered two hits and two RBI while Cooper Elza had two hits and scored twice. Andrew Cupp connected with two hits while Hinkle had a hit and drove in two runs. Cameron Smith added a hit while Ashton Napier finished with a hit, an RBI and scored twice.
