Lady Cardinals get revenge with 3-0 win over Middlesboro

LONDON — After a surprising loss Middlesboro earlier in the season, Carly Mink’s South Laurel Lady Cardinals were ready for revenge on Monday.

They got it, but the Lady Yellow Jackets made South Laurel work hard to grab the 3-0 victory.

The Lady Cardinals (24-8) scored a run in each of the first three innings and never looked back as freshman pitcher Kenzie Williams took control in the pitcher’s circle.

Williams notched another complete game, allowing only three hits and no runs while striking out 10 batters. She is now 16-4 on the season while inching closer to 200 strikeouts. Williams currently has 188 Ks.

South Laurel managed to finish with eight hits at the plate with Audrey Likins and Bailey Frazier finishing with two hits and an RBI apiece. Morgan Jackson, Williams, and Ryleigh Bretz finished with a hit and a run scored apiece while Amara Horn also had a hit.
