Lady Wildcats sweep doubleheader, improve to 21-11

CORBIN — Nikki Hendrix’s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats improved to 21-11 after completing a sweep of Bell County on Monday.
The Lady Wildcats handed the Lady Bobcats (10-15) a 5-0 loss in the first game and an 11-1 loss in game two.

“It took us a few innings to get our bats going, but we were able to gain some momentum and push runs across,” Hendrix said. “We played a great game defensively, Emma Burnette and Lauren Partin made some really great catches too. Jorja Carnes pitched a great game tonight and only gave up one hit.

“In the second game, our bats stayed hot from the get-go and we ended up with 14 hits,” she added. “Every player on the team had a base hit and several of them had multiple hits. Jorja ended the game with a home run to right field in the bottom of the fourth. Also. Allie Messer was great in the circle and only allowed two hits. I really think we are playing our best ball right now. Everything is starting to click. We just have to keep the momentum and focusing going to finish out the season strong.”
