Jaguars drop second in a row with 3-1 loss to Madison Central

LONDON — A two-run sixth inning by Madison Central proved to be the all the Indians needed to kick off North Laurel on Thursday.

With the game tied at one apiece, Madison Central pushed across two runs and never looked back.

The loss dropped the Jaguars to 18-16. North Laurel has two more games left this week before regular season play ends.

Darren McWhorter’s squad entered the week riding a five-game win streak but have now lost consecutive games.

The Jaguars were limited to two hits in the loss as Andrew Cupp and Cameron Smith finished with one hit apiece while Cam Hinkle drove in a run.

Andrew Cupp took the loss in the pitcher’s circle despite turning in a stellar effort. He pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs. He struck out three batters.
