LONDON — South Laurel’s freshman Kenzie Williams continues to shine, setting a new Lady Cardinal softball program strikeouts in a season record she set last season.
Williams struck out 14 batters, and now has 201 Ks on the season.
The game was tight throughout before Williams delivered a game-winning triple that scored Morgan Jackson to give South Laurel a 1-0 win over Somerset in the bottom of the seventh.
The Lady Cardinals improved to a 13th Region-best 25-9 with the win.
Williams led South Laurel with two hits and an RBI while Emmie Rice delivered two hits as well. Amara Horn, Addison Baker, and Morgan Jackson finished with one hit apiece.
