Ty Clark silences Pineville’s bats during Barbourville’s 12-2 win 

CORBIN — Brandon Hillard’s Barbourville Tigers took care of business and earned their way into next week’s 13th Region Baseball Tournament by handing Pineville a 12-2 loss during semifinal action of the 51st District Baseball Tournament.

The Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead after four innings of play before the Mountain Lions scored their two runs in the fifth inning.

“Ty Clark battled for us on the mound,” Hillard said. “The Littles kid threw great for Pineville. We had to scratch and claw for a while.”

Connor West led Barbourville with two hits, three RBI and one run scored while Ty Clark delivered a hit, and two RBI and scored twice. Nathan Miller also connected with a run-scoring hit.

Clark got the win, tossing five innings while scattering three hits and allowing no runs. He struck out eight batters. Miller tossed a scoreless inning while allowing only one hit, and finishing with two Ks.
