Lady Green Dragons crowned as 52nd District champions with 4-3 win over Harlan County 

HARLAN — Powered by the bats of Abbi Fields and Addison Jackson and combined with the arm of pitchers Mallory McNiel and Jordyn Smith, the Harlan Lady Green Dragons were able to capture the 52nd District Fastpitch Tournament championship by defeating rival Harlan County, 4-3.

The Lady Green Dragons (14-18) built a 4-0 lead and managed to hold on and defeat the Lady Black Bears (14-19) by one run.

Jackson, who connected with her ninth home run, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Fields, who connected with her third home run of the tournament and seventh of the season, went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run scored. Gracie Hensley also had a run-scoring hit while Smith finished with a hit and scored once.

Jade Burton and Aviya Halcomb had two hits apiece for Harlan County while Brittleigh Estep delivered a run-scoring hit. Rylie Maggard also drove in a run while Madison Blair, Jenna Wilson, Lesliegh Brown, and Halanah Shepherd each finished with a hit apiece.
