CORBIN — Pineville’s Rachel Howard continues to show she’s one of the best pitchers in the state after striking out 16 batters while limiting Knox Central to only two hits during the Lady Mountain Lions’ 3-0 win during semifinal play of the 51st District Tournament.
Pineville (14-6) scored a run in the first, third, and fifth innings to get the win.
Addison Slone led the way for the Lady Mountain Lions, going 3-for-3 with one RBI while Nadine Johnson’s the table at the top of the lineup, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Baileigh Bargo-Vaughn had a hit and two RBI while Rayanna Maidon finished with a hit and a run scored. Monica Whitehead also had a hit.
