MCKEE — Clay County spotted Jackson County a 3-0 lead before rallying to capture its third straight 49th District Tournament crown with a 6-4 victory.
The Tigers (19-13) scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and added four runs in the fifth inning to secure the win.
Talan Marcum and Tate Rice connected with home runs in the win. Marcum finished with two hits, three RBI and one run scored. Rice had a hit, an RBI and one run scored. Hayden Crockett also drove in a run while finishing with two hits and a run scored. Brandin Crawford finished with a hit and a run scored while Aidan Roberts had two hits, and a run scored. Tyson Wagers finished with a hit and a run scored.
Crawford got the win, tossing 6 1/3 of an inning while allowing five hits and four earned runs. He fanned 12 batters. Marcum got the final two outs of the game.
