The duo of Autumn Sawyers and Deserae Haynes were unstoppable during Whitley County’s 10-2 victory over Harlan County on Tuesday.
Both players scored five goals apiece in the win while Madison Earls, Brileigh Logan, and Makayla Strunk each had two assists apiece. Callie Nugent, Kaylee Hughes, Ryleigh Petrey, and Norma Proffitt each had an assist apiece.
“Speed of the game was slower than we’d like,” Whitley County coach Autumn Sawyers said. “I didn’t feel like we played to our potential. Took 32 shots and only converted 10, but glad to see the team feeling confident enough to shoot the ball.”
The Lady Colonels will be back in action this weekend, participating in the Smoky Mountain Cup.
