LEXINGTON — The Corbin boys’ and girls’ track and field teams along with three members of the Whitley County boys’ track and field team competed in the KHSAA Class 2A State Track & Field Meet and turned in impressive results.
Corbin’s boys’ team took home two state titles with Connor Messer taking home first place honors in the 800 Meter Run (1:55.86) along with the 4×800 Meter Relay Team of Coleman Anderson, Ben Teague, Ethan Slone, and Connor Messer. They set a school record with a finish of 8:04.52, and were just seconds away from breaking the state record.
On the girls’ side, Maddie Jo Russell turned in the highest finish on the team with two third place efforts in the 100 Meter Hurdles (16.28) and the 300 Meter Hurdles (47.99).
