LEXINGTON — After turning in a solid effort of tennis last week in the KHSAA Girls’ State Tennis Singles & Doubles Tournament, the Corbin Lady Redhounds were rolling again during Monday’s KHSAA Girls’ State Team Tennis Tournament.
Corbin wasted no time getting on track winning its first match 3-0 before slipping past Owensboro Catholic, 3-2, to advance to semifinal action on Tuesday.
The Lady Redhounds will face-off against McCracken County at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Isabella Lopez, Lindsay Jones and Katie Morton won their singles matches with identical scores of 6-0, 6-0 during the first round match while Olivia McArthur and MaryAlice McVey were up 6-0, 5-0, and Karlee Dickerson and Haley Carr were up 3-0 in doubles play before the overall match was stopped.
Corbin hung tough and beat Owensboro Catholic 3-2 during quarterfinal action.
Isabella Lopez won 6-1, 6-0, Lindsay Jones won 6-0, 6-3 and Katie Morton won 6-3, 6-0.
