South Laurel’s Kenzie Williams and Carly Mink captures KY Prep’s top regional honors

LONDON — South Laurel’s Fastpitch program took home two top honors on Friday.

Freshman pitcher Kenzie Williams was named KY Prep 2024 Player of the Year while South Laurel’s coach Carly Mink earned KY Prep Coach of the Year honors.

Williams started 29 games in the pitcher’s circle, posting a 20-6 record along with two saves. She had a 1.36 ERA while striking out 235 batters in 169.2 innings. Williams also batted .392 with five home runs, 40 RBI, 49 hits, six doubles and three triples.

Mink guided South Laurel to a 28-10 mark, including a 16-4 record against regional teams and a 7-1 record against 50th District opponents.

South Laurel was runner-ups in the 50th District and 13th Region.
