South Laurel High School has named Holly Bundy as its head cheer coach

Holly (Young) Bundy is a 1995 graduate of South Laurel High School where she was a member of the track and cheerleading teams all four years of high school.  Following graduation from SLHS, she joined the University of Kentucky cheerleading squad and was a four-time national champion.  After college Holly stayed active as a cheer consultant and judge with area schools, UCA, and maintained contact with the UK cheer program as well as a consultant and judge.

Holly is married to Philip Bundy, who is also an SLHS graduate.  They have two children: son, Hunter, who just graduated in May from SLHS and was a three-sport athlete, and daughter Aubrey, a two-sport athlete currently at SLHS.  Holly has been a pharmaceutical rep for Merck and Company, Inc. since 2000.

Athletic Director Jep Irwin: “It is always great to bring aboard a coach who is an SLHS grad with close ties to our community.  Coupled with Holly’s lifetime of experience in cheerleading at the high school and college levels and her enthusiasm for the sport,  she became a clear choice for us.  We are extremely excited that she has chosen to lead our program in the coming years.”
