LONDON — Defending 13th Region champion North Laurel had hopes of winning its season-opener against Henry Clay, but never got on track offensively, losing, 8-0.
The Jaguars entered the season with lots of momentum after coming off a 15-6 record last fall while advancing to the Elite Eight of the KHSAA State Tournament.
They returned five seniors from last season’s squad but couldn’t get any momentum going against Henry Clay.
Despite the loss, coach David Broyles likes what his team brings to the table this season.
“This team knows what it takes to win, has some big goals, and if we continue to work hard, stay focused, and improve as the season progresses, I believe they can achieve all those goals,” he said.
