LONDON — It wasn’t the season-opener outcome the South Laurel Lady Cardinals had hoped for.
The defending 13th Region champions never got on track during Monday’s match with Somerset while eventually falling, 7-0.
South Laurel fell behind three goals in the first half, and never recovered. The Lady Briar Jumpers added four goals in the second half to secure the win.
Somerset’s Isabella McKenzie and Tori Robertson scored three goals apiece in the win.
South Laurel will attempt to get back on track Thursday at home against regional foe Middlesboro.
