WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s scored early and often, securing its spot in the Class 2A, Section 7 championship game with a convincing 6-0 win over Harlan County on Monday.
The Colonels led 2-0 at halftime thanks to two goals from Jacob Senters before putting the match away with four goals in the second half.
Senters finished with two goals and two assists. Tucker Hale and Bryson Mahan had two goals apiece. Brody Moses, Levi Huddleston and Eli Higginbotham each had one assist.
“We possessed well throughout the game and managed to capitalize on a couple chances in the first half,” coach Michael Branham said. “We dominated the second half and put up 4four more goals to secure the win and earn our spot in the 2A championship.”
