WINCHESTER — North Laurel was its own worst enemy during its 2-1 loss to George Rigers Clark on Thursday.
The Jaguars (0-2) dominated the action against the Cardinals, but two own goals led to North Laurel’s 2-1 loss.
“I felt we played much better tonight and controlled the game for the most part, but a couple of own goals did us in,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “Both goals for them were just unlucky plays. Jaxon Jacobs scored our lone goal with the assist going to Cam Anderson. “We are going through a few growing pains as a team, but we are improving,” he added. “Games like this can build the character of the team. Overall, I’m proud of how we played, our passing and spacing were much better tonight.”
