North Laurel boys’ golf team remains red hot, captures another tournament crown

WILLIAMSBURG — Chris Stone’s North Laurel boys’ golf team continues to shine, capturing first place honors for the fourth time this season after capturing the Whitley County Colonels Invitational.
The Jaguars shot a 297 while led by Brady Hensley’s 70 which was good enough for a second place finish. Evan Woodlee followed with a 74 while Kole Jervis shot a 76. Todd Sizemore finished with a 77 while Jaxon Jervis shot a 78.
“Proud of the guys,” Stone said. “Our goal is to have five guys in the 70s. That gives us a chance to be below 300 as a team. A team score of 300 or less is what you got to have to complete in the state finals. We have scored that for the second time in a row.
“I’m pleased with their play and continuation to improve,” he added. “We will keep working hard and reaching for our goals. This was our fourth first-place this year. I want us to stay hot as we start the home stretch toward postseason play.”
