LONDON — North Laurel snapped a two-game losing skid to begin the season by rolling past Pulaski County on Tuesday with a 3-0 win.
The Jaguars improved to 1-2 after scoring one goal in the first half while adding two goals in the second half.
Cam Anderson, Grant Abner and Reilly Stuber finished with a goal apiece in the win.
“I felt we came out and finally played the way we are capable of playing,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We controlled possession from the start and really never let up. We had several really good scoring opportunities in the first half, but didn’t find the back of the net till late in the half when Grant Abner found Reilly Stuber with a through ball that he slotted into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead at the half. We kept the intensity up in the second half with Cam Anderson scoring off a nice long ball from Eli Davis to make it 2-0. Grant Abner finished off the scoring by converting a PK drawn by Stuber for the 3-0 final. “This team rallied after learning that we would be without Jaxon Jacobs for the rest of the year due to a blood clot in his left arm,” he added. “Overall, I was pleased with the way we played, but we still have a lot of work to do to get to where I expect us to be.”
North Laurel controlled first half action as Stuber scored with a minute remaining in the first half.
Anderson’s goal during the 50th minute pushed the Jaguars’ advantage to 2-0 while Abner scored on a penalty kick three minutes later to secure the win for North Laurel.
The Jaguars will be back in action Thursday at home against Southwestern.
