WILLIAMSBURG — Dirk Berta had plenty reason to be happy on Tuesday after watching his team rally from a one-set deficit to defeat McCreary Central, 3-1.
The Lady Yellow Jackets ran their record to 1-0 despite falling to the Lady Raiders in the first set, 28-26.
The first set loss was a wake-up call for Williamsburg. Berta’s squad responded by controlling the final three sets while winning each one of identical scores of 25-17.
“Our girls played great while making some adjustments to our lineup,” Berta said. “We had great production out of serve-receive and our offense. I am extremely proud of the way each member of the team has decided to be ‘Above The Line’ in every aspect. This was and is a great way to start the season against a tough McCreary Central team. Go Jackets.”
Williamsburg is scheduled to be back in action Thursday on the road against Jellico, Tenn.
