SOMERSET — Since starting the season with a 2-0 mark while outscoring their opponents, 13-0, during the process, the Whitley County Colonels have struggled.
Michael Branham’s squad dropped its second consecutive game on Thursday, losing to Pulaski County on the road, 7-0.
The Colonels have now been outscored, 15-0, during their past two games.
“We aren’t playing our best right now, we’ve still got some kinks to work out, but the potential is there,” Branham said. “We were feeling the effects of forward Brody Moses being out, he will be out for the season with a torn meniscus. Now we have to reflect, regroup and prepare for our busiest and potentially most important week of the season coming up.”
Branham’s squad will be back in action Monday at home at 6 p.m. against 49th District rival Corbin in a Class 2A, Section 7 Tournament show down.
Whitley County advanced in the tournament by defeating Harlan County, 6-0, to open the season.
