LONDON — North Laurel notched its second consecutive shut out win on Thursday but coach David Broyles thought his team could have played better during the Jaguars’ 8-0 win over Southwestern.
Sawyer Miller and Grant Abner led the way with two goals apiece in the win while five other Jaguar players added a goal apiece. The win improved North Laurel to 2-2.
“I didn’t feel that we played as well tonight and that we got away from doing some things that had been working well for us,” Broyles said. “We were sloppy with our passing and our communication on the field was not good tonight. “Luckily, we did enough to come away with the win, but we have to play better,” he added. “Our biggest bright spot tonight was set pieces, especially corners. We came away with three or four goals off corners and I was pleased with that. We will regroup and get ready for Belfry on Saturday.”
