THOMPSON PUTS ON A SHOW: Pineville sophomore QB scores six TDs during Lions’ win over McCreary

Pineville quarterback Sawyer Thompson out on a show along with the Mountain Lion defense during their 44-6 rout of  McCreary Central on Friday.
Thompson threw for over 250 yards (unofficially) and three touchdowns while also adding three rushing scores in the blowout victory. 
Allen Harris’ defense has now only allowed 25 points in four games 
Pineville continued its success scoring on its opening offensive series, as Landon King’s 27-yard run set up Sawyer Thompson’s five-yard touchdown pass to Landon Robbins, giving the Mountain Lions an 8-0 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Thompson continued to air the ball out on Pineville’s ensuing drive. Completions of 48 yards, and 13 yards, set up his 29-yard touchdown pass to Luke Akers while increasing the Mountain Lions’ lead to 16-0 with 33 seconds left in the first quarter.
Pineville continued to dominate during its third drive of the game, taking advantage of two penalties and a 39-yard run by Nasir Wilson which set up Thompson’s one-yard touchdown run, as the Mountain Lions built a 24-0 cushion with 9:29 remaining in the second quarter.
McCreary got into he scoreboard with 4:32 remaining in the first half after a 31-yard pass from Peyton Higginbotham to Maddy  McKinney made the score, 24-6. 
Thompson and his Pineville teammates picked up where they left off in the first half, as his second rushing touchdown, a one-yarder increased the Mountain Lions’ lead to 32-6 with 1:57 remaining in the third quarter.
After forcing a turnover, Pineville scored again, this time through the air as Thompson and Evan Biliter hooked up for a 10-yard score, pushing The Mountain Lions’ lead to 38-6 with 11:23 remaining in regulation. 
Thompson added his third rushing touchdown with 3:34 left to increase his team’s lead to 44-6.
Pineville will be back in action and heavy favorites Friday when the Mountain Lions travel to play Berea.
