LANCASTER — Kayla Bargo got her first win as North Laurel’s girls soccer coach as the Lady Jaguars outlasted Garrard County on the road to pick up a 4-3 win.
Four different players scored for the Lady Jaguars in the win — Annabelle Welch, McKinley Mastin, Presley Thompson and Haley Combs.
Makyleigh Gilbert captured defensive player of the game honors.
“It was great to finally get the season started,” Bargo said. “We got past the first game jitters and things started clicking. It truly was a whole team effort. Players stepped up at every position and made plays. They fought hard and never gave up. I’m so proud of our effort and fight. Makyleigh Gilbert was our defensive player of the game with a huge save on the goal line.”
