LONDON — North Laurel picked up a match win play against Corbin, South Laurel and Whitley County by shooting an impressive team score of 163.
Max Dotson and Brayden Hyde led the way with a 39 apiece while Garrett Cassidy shot a 42. Will Sutton finished with a 43, Jackson Storm finished with a 47, and Wes Storm shot a 50.
“We had some of the younger guys compete in a conference match yesterday,” North Laurel coach Christina Stone said. “They played well with eighth grader Max Dotson, and junior Brayden Hyde shooting 39s. They help lead the team to victory over South Laurel, Corbin, and Whitley.
“It is always great to get some of the younger guys some experience,” he added. “Especially when they perform like they did today. The future looks bright for North golf. As the top varsity players focus on invitational and post season prep, it allows us to get our up and coming players opportunities like playing in conference. They finished conference regular season, 3-2. I’m happy with that and the improvement they have shown. I’m excited to see them compete in the conference championship later next month.”
