LONDON — After suffering a four-set setback to defending 13th Region champion Whitley County on Monday, James Hendrix’s North Laurel Lady Jaguars responded in a big way on Tuesday.
North Laurel captured its first win of the season while improving to 1-2 during the process with a 25-7, 25-7, and 25-10 win over Red Bird.
“It’s nice to get in the win column after two dropping the first two of the season,” Hendrix said. “We had a chance to work on some things and get some reps in for some of the younger girls.
“Addison Metcalf did a great job upfront with a couple of blocks and kills,” he added. “Mia Rodriguez went on an impressive serving run and played great defense. Lucy Jo Linville did a great job running the offense in the third set and picked up a couple of aces. Overall, I’m pleased and look forward to our matchup with Clay on Thursday.”
