NORTH DOMINATES: Lady Jaguars capture Lynn Camp Invitational’s first place honors while Taylor Allen wins girls’ race 

North Laurel’s girls’ cross country team took home first place honors during Saturday’s Lynn Camp Invitational, finishing with 28 points while placing six runners in the top 15.

Corbin turned in a second place finish with 79 points while Lynn Camp placed third with 100 points. East Jessamine was four with 107 points. Harlan County placed fifth with 113 points while Bell County was sixth with 118 points. Williamsburg turned in a seventh place effort, finishing with 141 points.

Lady Jaguar Taylor Allen won the individual race with a time of 20:01.05. Lynn Camp’s Abby Mabe finished third (21:08.57) while South Laurel eighth grader Rose Stanko 22:04.45 placed fifth.

Whitley County’s Sophy Jones (sixth, 22:05.35), Corbin’s Jaycee Frye (seventh, 22:06.67), and Mary Hope Jackson (eighth, 22:10.61), and North Laurel’s Sienna Sizemore (ninth, 22:22.31), and McKinley Mastin (10th, 22:48.29) rounded out the top 10.

Presley Hensley was Harlan County’s top runner. She placed 17th overall (23:40.29) while Knox Central’s Kaylee Mills finished 18th with a time of 23:50.52. 

Bell County’s Milka Woodrong turned in a 19th place effort (24:00.25) while Williamsburg’s Ryan Fields finished 21st with a time of 24:09.61. Harlan’s top runner was Chloe Schwenke (30th, 24:53.70) while Clay County’s Andrea Smith finished 43rd overall with a time of 25:50.75.
