Williamsburg remains red-hot, defeats Jackson County with two-set sweep

MCKEE — When you’re hot, you’re hot, and the Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets volleyball team is red-hot.

Dirk Berta’s squad won their fourth match in a row, improving to 7-1 after defeating Jackson County for the second time this season with a two-set victory.

Williamsburg picked up a 25-17 win in the first set and never looked back, notching a 25-20 win in the second set.

Berta was pleased with the way his team came out focused while taking care of business.

“We served the ball really well tonight,” he said. “It is nice to follow up Tuesday with a win tonight. Our defense and serving really carried us. This is a versatile team and we can win in multiple ways. “We’re going to keep working and looking forward to a big week next week starting with two district matches on Tuesday and Thursday and then the All A Region tournament on Saturday,” he added. “As always, Go Jackets.”
