CORBIN — For the second time this week, Roger Taylor’s Corbin Redhounds handed Whitley County a loss.
The game on Monday was for the Class 2A, Section 7 championship with the Redhounds pulling out a win in a shoot out.
This time around, Corbin won in regulation, defeating the Colonels 2-0 on Thursday.
The Redhounds built a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Jeffrey Morton (assist by JP Carmichael) and Carmichael, and never looked back.
Corbin is now 3-5 overall and in 49th District games while the Colonels fall to 3-4 and 0-1.
“I thought we played some of the best soccer I’ve seen in two years tonight,” Taylor said. “The midfield controlled the ball well, our center backs were dominant, and JP was really dangerous up front. Excited to see things coming together before a midseason break.”
