DJ Wren puts a spin on Wildcats’ 48-31 win, scores five TDs

CORBIN — Lynn Camp’s DJ Wren put a spin on what he could do on the grid during Friday’s matchup with Berea.

He took the opening kick-off for a touchdown, also returned an interception for a score while adding three more touchdowns to help the Wildcats secure a 48-31 win over Berea.

The Wildcats are now 2-0 on the season while capturing their fourth consecutive win against the Pirates.

“I’m very proud of the fight we showed tonight,” Hendrix said. We jumped on them and thought we were gonna coast but Berea had other plans. I keep saying it but I’ve got a great group of young men. I love this team and my coaching staff.

“DJ Wren had another great night,” he added. “Darrin Campbell and Thomas Jones’ ability to run the ball well is helping cause teams can’t just focus on him, they have to worry about the other two. Our offensive line is really blocking well and defense is finding ways to get the job done. David Bargo continues to get better at quarterback and leading the team. We had a huge crowd tonight and I really appreciate them coming out and supporting this team.”
