Lady Redhounds remain unbeaten with three-set sweep over Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG — Krystal Jones’ Corbin Lady Redhounds remained red-hot on Tuesday.

Fresh off a Class 2A, Section 7 championship win over defending 13th Region champion Whitley County over the weekend, the Lady Redhounds improved to a perfect 9-0 after recording a 3-0 win over 50th District foe Williamsburg.

“I’m proud of the girls for keeping the momentum up tonight, continuing to work and improve,” Jones said. “They showed great determination and teamwork on the court. It’s exciting to see our hard work in practice translating into solid performances during games. Now, on to prepping for North on Thursday. Go Hounds.”

The Lady Yellow Jackets entered the match with lots of momentum, snapping their 48-game district losing skid while also notching their first-ever district win last week against South Laurel.

Williamsburg hung tough but in the end, Corbin managed to pull out a 25-14, 25-11, and 25-11 win. The loss dropped the Lady Yellow Jackets to 8-2 while snapping their four-game win streak.
