Lady Redhounds continue to roll, hand Knox Central 8-0 loss

LOG MOUNTAIN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds recorded their second straight 8-0 win, this time against Knox Central on Wednesday, to advance in the Class 2A, Region 7 Tournament.

“We started out a little slow again tonight but we came together well,” Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. “It was a good win for us. We need to work on picking our tempo up a little but we are looking good right now.

“Our offense is starting to click and we’ve been working on our movement off the ball to create opportunities,” she added. “I think we’re doing well, improving every game. I’m extremely proud of the progress we’ve made so far. Excited to be able to compete for the championship of the 2A.”

Corbin (3-6) scored early and often during the win as Katie Morton led the way with three goals. Jersey Roberson and Hadley Elmore each added two goals apiece while Sophie Cima also scored.

Madison Hippert led Corbin with three assists while Brylie McKee, Suzy Gilbert and Morton each delivered an assist apiece.
