Jaguars suffer 42-7 setback to Franklin County

FRANKFORT — Steven Nelson’s North Laurel Jaguars couldn’t get anything going offensively during Friday’s 42-7 loss to Franklin County.

The Jaguars (2-1) fought early and entered the second quarter tied 0-0 before the Flyers began to pull away later in the second half.

“Kids played good and hard defensively, field position heard us all night long,” Nelson said. “Only gave up one defensive touchdown in the first half and a punt return for a touchdown. Had a lot of mistakes that hurt us as a team and we have to start executing at a much higher level.

“The game got away from us with five mins left in the fourth quarter and we gave up a lot of scores,” he added. “I’m proud the way the guys fought all game and we will bounce back from it.”
