MOREHEAD — Corbin’s run for the Kentucky 2A Boys’ State Soccer championship came to an end on Saturday, losing to Rowan County, 3-0, in state semifinal action.
The loss, Corbin’s third in a row, dropped the Redhounds’ record to 4-8 on the season.

“We had a lot of adversity facing us before this game,” Corbin coach Roger Taylor said. “Our schedule was interrupted, not having school or practice all week really hurt. Driving 2.5 hours on a bus and playing on a hot turf field is also not ideal.
“We made a lot of mistakes, and struggled to control the ball from the start,” he added. “Our rhythm was off, and we fell into a lot of old bad habits.”
Corbin will be back in action Monday at Pulaski County.
