Lady Redhounds capture win No. 13 with four-set victory over Somerset Christian

CORBIN — There’s no quit in the Corbin Lady Redhound volleyball team.

After turning in a 2-2 effort during the Capital Classic this past weekend, Corbin was back in action Monday against Somerset Christian.

The Lady Redhounds took care of business, winning in four sets, 3-1, to improve to 13-2.

The match was close throughout with Corbin picking up a slim 25-21 win in the first set before pulling out a 25-23 victory in the second set.

Somerset Christian captured a 25-22 win in the third set before the Lady Redhounds cruised to a 25-14 win in the fourth set.

“Our blocking tonight was really solid across the board,” Corbin coach Krystal Jones said. “Somerset Christian is a tough team with a strong offense and defense.

“This was one of the better performances our front row has delivered this season, and it gives the coaching staff a lot to be excited about and build upon,” she added. “We’re really proud of our girls and how they played tonight. Tomorrow, we face South Laurel before heading to Owensboro for the 2A state.”
