LONDON — A 12-day layoff didn’t play in North Laurel’s favor during Tuesday’s frustrating 2-1 loss to Estill County.
The Lady Jaguars (3-2) hung tough but couldn’t come through on offense during their one-goal loss.
“Frustration is probably the word of the week,” North Laurel coach Kayla Bargo said. “We played well, especially to have not been allowed to play or practice for over a week. Things just didn’t fall our way in the end.
“We are thankful to have the opportunity to be back on the field and back as a team,” she added. “We’ve just got to keep pushing to get back to where we need to be.”
Haley Combs scored North Laurel’s lone goal, as the Lady Jaguars have now dropped two games in a row.
North Laurel will be back in action Thursday on the road in a key 49th District matchup against Corbin. The Lady Jaguars will attempt to improve to 2-0 in district play.
