CORBIN — North Laurel managed to snap a two-game losing skid while picking up an important district road win, defeating Corbin on Thursday, 3-0.
The Lady Jaguars improved to 4-2 overall but more importantly, they remained unbeaten against 49th District teams at 2-0.
“Tonight was good,” North Laurel coach Kayla Bargo said. “We finally had a full team. We had been plagued with sickness and injury. Having everyone available was so nice. We moved the ball extremely well and were able to come away with a much needed win.”
The loss dropped Hannah Goins’ Lady Redhounds to 3-8 overall and 0-2 against district opponents.
North Laurel jumped out in Corbin early, scoring two goals in the first half thanks to Annabelle Welch, and Lauren Crouch.
Haley Combs scored the Lady Jaguars’ final goal of the game in the second half to give her team the three-goal win.
