Jackson County boys’ golf team captures Appalachian Cup for the first time since 2015

MCKEE — The Appalachian Cup has returned back to Jackson County High School for the first time since 2015.

The Generals golf team dominated during the event as Micah Summers led the Generals with a 37. Eli Sumers shot a 38 while Jackson Lakes (40), Lidge Thomas (41), and Tydus Summers (44) followed.

The Generals also participated in the SEKGC Conference and turned in a third place effort.

Micah Summers placed second overall while Elizabeth Summers finished 10th.

Individual honors for the season-long conference play included Micah Summers receiving Player of the Year honors. Tydus Summers earned second team all-conference., Elijah Summers got third team while Jackson Lakes and Elijah Thomas both brought home honorable mention honors.
