LIBERTY — South Laurel entered Tuesday’s match against Casey County searching for a win and some goals after getting outscored, 10-0, during its past three games.
They did just that against the Lady Rebels, as Gracie Hoskins and Trinity Rogers each scored to lead the Lady Cardinals (3-6-1) to a 2-0 win.
“We didn’t play as fast as what I wanted but still played well,” South Laurel coach Jeremy Howard said. “Gracie Hoskins scored early from about 30 yards out and the keeper got their hands on it but wasn’t able to keep it out of the net.
“The second goal was a nice work up with Trinity Rogers following the ball back post and knocked it in,” he added. “Coaching staff is really proud of the progress that we’ve made. We’ve got a tough match coming up this weekend and hopefully we can continue to play well.”
