LONDON — It wasn’t easy, but in the end, it was a win.
North Laurel survived a five-set scare against crosstown rival South Laurel before pulling by out a 3-2 win.
The Lady Jaguars (4-6) snapped a four-game losing skid while capturing their fifth consecutive win over the Lady Cardinals, who dropped to 6-15 overall. South Laurel has now lost 11 out of its last 12 matches.
The Lady Cardinals surprised North Laurel in the first set with a 25-9 win before the Lady Jaguars answered with a 25-23 victory in the second set.
North Laurel picked up a 25-23 win in the third set before South Laurel answered with a 25-17 win in the fourth set.
The Lady Jaguars fought hard to pull out a 15-12 victory in the fifth set to secure the win.
