I’m slowly creeping up to the 80 percent mark that I’m wanting to reach by season’s end. After posting a 9-2 record last week, I currently sit at 36-10 overall and moved my winning percentage to 78.2 percent.
Let’s see if I can continue the upward trend this week. The weather might play a big roll, but as always, I’ll try my best.
Berea at Jackson County
It’s gonna be a muddy game but in the end look for Jackson County to roll up a lot of rushing yards.
Prediction – Jackson County 49, Berea 6
McCreary Central at Bell County
The Bobcats enter the game as the hottest team in the 13th Region. Look for them to capture win No. 5 on Friday.
Prediction – Bell County 48, McCreary Central 6
Hazard at Corbin
I think Corbin will roll but if it’s really windy, it might be closer than expected. The Redhounds have struggled establishing the run, and a windy day could be a good thing for the Bulldogs’ defense.
Prediction — Corbin 40, Hazard 13
Middlesboro at Lynn Camp
This is a huge district matchup for both teams. Middlesboro finally got a win last week while Lynn Camp improved to 3-1.
DJ Wren will need to have another big game for the Wildcats to beat the Yellow Jackets.
Prediction – Middlesboro 34, Lynn Camp 20
Pineville at Harlan
Both teams enter Saturday’s game with identical 0-4 marks, so something has to give. I’m going to have to go with the home team in this one.
Prediction – Harlan 34, Pineville 30
Pulaski County at South Laurel
The weather could play a big factor in deciding who will win this game. If it does, it’s gotta play in the Maroons’ favor.
Prediction – Pulaski County 35, South Laurel 19
Rockcastle County at Clay County
This could very well be the game of the week. The 5-0 Rockets will try to hand the Tigers (4-0) their first loss of the season, and vice versa.
This will be Clay County’s biggest test of the season, so far.
Prediction – Rockcastle Co. 42, Clay Co. 20
Southwestern at North Laurel
This is a huge district game for both teams. The Jaguars enter with a three-game losing skid, and need a win in a big way.
Prediction – Southwestern 28, North Laurel 14
Williamsburg at North Greene, Tenn.
Normally, I’d say the Yellow Jackets are the favorites in a game like this but North Greene might possess its best team in a long time this season.
Prediction – North Greene 28, Williamsburg 26
