RICHMOND — North Laurel and Madison Central battled for 80 minutes and the two teams came away with a one-all draw on Thursday.
The game was scoreless until three minutes into the second half when Malik Turner gave the Jaguars (6-3-1) a 1-0 lead.
North Laurel held the lead until the Indians scored during the 75th minute forcing the draw.
“We played well tonight considering the lay-off this week and the weather,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “It was a well-matched game. Central plays a lot like we do and many of the players play club together, so they are used to each others tendencies which made the game super competitive. We led for most of the second half, but they tied us up with a little over 5 minutes to go in the second half and that’s how it ended.”
North Laurel is currently scheduled to play crosstown rival South Laurel Saturday at 10 a.m.
