WILLIAMSBURG — The defending 13th Region champions Whitley County hands Williamsburg its six straight loss Whitley County Lady Colonels improved to 13-5 after upending Williamsburg in three sets on Thursday.
Whitley County was in cruise control throughout the match, winning the first set 25-10 before putting the match away with a 25-14 victory in the second set and a 25-13 win in the third set.
The loss drops the Lady Yellow Jackets to 13-9 overall while they suffered their sixth game in a row.
“Great performance from our team tonight,” Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. “This was our most complete match of the season — very consistent in all facets of the game.
“Serving, passing, setting and defense was very good and all our hitters took great swings on the ball,” he added. “We can build from this and keep moving forward. We will get to play a lot of matches at our Lady Colonel First Priority Volleyball Classic on Saturday. Super-pleased with our effort tonight.”
