LONDON — Kenzie Hubbard scored four goals while Morgan Taylor added two goals to lead South Laurel to a game-shortened 8-0 win over Rockcastle County on Monday.
“We had a great senior night tonight,” South Laurel coach Jeremy Howard said. “And hats off to Rockcastle County, for them being a first-year team they looked really good. We moved the ball really well tonight and we are really proud of this girls. Now we just have to keep the momentum and keep it going through tomorrow against Middlesboro, and then on into the tournament.”
A goal by Gracie Hoskins a minute into the game gave the Lady Cardinals (4-7-1) a 1-0 lead while Taylor added two goals during the next five minutes to push South Laurel’s advantage to 3-0.
Hubbard followed with two goals of her own during the 21st and 22nd minutes, respectively, increasing the Lady Cardinals’ lead to 5-0 before another goal by Hubbard, and another goal by Hubbard and a goal by Ariana Duarte allowed South Laurel to wrap-up the win.
South Laurel will be back in action Tuesday on the road against Middlesboro.
