WILLIAMSBURG — Dirk Berta’s Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets needed a win in the worst way, and they’re got it on Monday, defeating Knox Central in four sets.
The Lady Yellow Jackets entered the matchup with a season-worst six-game losing skid, but recorded a 25-21, 25-23, 18-25, and 25-12 victory to get back to their winning ways, improving to 14-9.
“It’s nice to get back in the win column,” Berta said. “It didn’t come easy, though. I was encouraged with our offense and ability to sustain runs with our serving in the fourth set. That’s the first time in a a few matches that we’ve played Williamsburg volleyball. We are looking forward to South Laurel tomorrow. As always, Go Jackets.”
