LONDON — Don’t look now but the Corbin Redhound soccer team is peaking at the right time.
With postseason play right around the corner, the Redhounds picked up a huge district win over South Laurel on Tuesday.
John Ball’s made PK with nine minutes remaining in the game turned out to be the game-winning goal as Coebin defeated South Laurel, 2-1.
The Redhounds are now 6-9 overall and 3-1 against district opponents while South Laurel dropped to 7-7-1 and has now lost five matches in a row.
Corbin took an early 1-0 lead during the sixth minute thanks to a goal from Leo Mose. The Cardinals tied the game at one apiece in the 59th minute as Henri Flawgel scored.
The Redhounds pulled out the one-goal win thanks to Ball’s made PK.
Corbin finishes regular season play Tuesday on the road against Southwestern while has two regular season matches left — Tuesday’s game against Whitley County at home and Thursday’s road game against Pulaski County.
