Khajohnsupawatchara’s goal with less than a minute left gives OBI 4-3 win over Whitley County

WILLIAMSBURG — An instant classic.

But unfortunately there had to be a loser of Monday’s 49th District battle between Oneida Baptist and Whitley County.

The two teams battled for 80 minutes but in the end, the Mountaineers’ Hero Khajohnsupawatchara’s goal with 3.9 seconds remaining in the match broke a three-all tie, giving Oneida Baptist the 4-3 win over a stunned Colonel squad.

Noah Jeon gave the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead during the 18th minutes but Whitley County answered with six minutes remaining in the half thanks to a goal from Jacob Senters to tie the game at one apiece.

The match remained tied until the 34-second mark of the first half when Enrique Gabardo found the back of the net to give his team a 2-1 lead at halftime.

Senters tied the game at two apiece during the 43rd minute before Jonathan Fan’s goal during the 63rd minute gave Oneida Baptist a 3-2 lead.

The Colonels never gave up as Javon Ridner’s made PK tied the game at three apiece with 1:43 remaining in the game, which then setup Khajohnsupawatchara’s heroics in the final minute.
